Just a quickie....
I have a tax-exempt IIA that I have owned for many years, the chassis isn't too bad but I have patched it a few times over the years. As I plan to keep the vehicle for life, I am think about fitting a NEW galvanised chassis.
Obviously I am keen to keep it's original number plate and tax-exempt status.... I have checked the DVLA website and see that as long as you fit a new chassis (not secondhand) everything should be OK.
To the people on the board who have done this:
Did you notify DVLA of the change or just keep the old VIN plate? Did any of you have any problems with DVLA? Did any of you have to have your vehicle inspected? Anything else I should be thinking about?
Thanks in advance, Rowland.
