i have a 98 freelander di which has developed a clunk sound when reversing. i have parked it on the flat without the handbrake on, in case the shoes were sticking, but it still does it. ive recently had the rear diff hangers, more bushes than i thought possible and the prop shaft hangers replaced but still it clunks. i dont need to brake for it to make the sound which sounds and feels like it comes from somewhere near the rear shock.niether me or the mechanic can see anything else.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
