New alloys and tyres

Hi Folks,
I just ordered me a new set of 18" triple chrome 5 spoke alloys for me Freelander TD4.
When asked what tyres i want i choosed Pirelli over the standard budget tyres.
Anyone else have any thoughts on pirelli tyres? good or bad !!!

pirelli tyres have always been very good and hard wearing second only to michelin's. the compound is pretty hard and you should get a good few miles out of them. deffo a better choice than budgets

Excellent, that's what i wanted to hear.
Might be a stupid question but i am sure i was told either P3000 or P5000 tyres, does anyone know how wide these mentioned tyres will be.
As mentioned my alloys are 7.5" wide and i have been told that the max a freelander can go without any mods is 8.5".
How wide will me pirelli tyres be on a 7.5 " Wheel ???

Not sure how tyre widths compare to wheel widths. 7.5" = 190.5mm but that sounds a little slim for a tyre on an 18" rim. I would hazard a guess they would come up at 215 wide. Only a guess, no guarantee comes with this post

wheel widths are a strange bag. i still don't get why we have imperial wheel widths and metric tyre widths. but as mark the slurry says, 205's or 215's will sit nicely on a 7.5" rim.

The pirelli is a good tyre , as long as you don't watch it as your driving along with yer DVD going and all them flashing led things that yer gonna fit underneath yer motor [snort]

I take it Yella Disco that you don't get outmuch and more to the point dont even drive past the speed limits do ya - cause if ya do that's just as bad ya meesly mouth lil bastard..

funny you should say that djaj yes i do get out and yes i do drive above the speed limits at times but its nothing to be proud of really is it

Well then exactly,
your just as bad for me if you speed over the limits that are set for your safety arn't you.
Look at statistics on how many accident are cause through excess driving speeds in relation to watching dvd's (enough said i think)

Bottom Line Yello ****ty (Disco) it's not big and clever to speed....

How boring, back to Zog then ,put on ma dvd on in the bog,warp speed no hands no eyes auto pilot,put on ma blue flashin lights to keep earthlings happy. . .

Whats on page 400 in the Argos book? Pull over and put the hand brake on before reading it though
I don't think speeding is any where near as bad as watching a DVD on the move whilst trying to drive and read an Argos book.
