new 300 Tdi engine ?

Im still on the hunt for a discovery and have seen a few a couple have to mush rust, the other couple had quiet high mileage (well i say high they were on 150k and 130k) Now i i know on here and looking around the net some of these engines do a lot more mileage, but i was just wondering if thee is anywhere you can pick up a new or reconditioned engine from for these now a days ?

looked through ebay and lots of second hand engines but no new that i can see ?

130-150k, that's Low mileage in my book at 127k the disco 300tdi I run now is the lowest mileage one ever owned, its under half the 260+ of all the others

Even if you look at it by averages, 300tdi discos are all pushing a couple of decades old now, and at 12k a year puts the youngest on nearly 200k being reasonable.

Looking here I suspect you can have several used ebay engines as spares in the back of the garage for the same money

But I notice the trhead header is "disco2" so surely you want a TD5?

Mine 300 is on 235K,

WEll the while drive train has done that anyway, had a replacement engine a few years back of unknown mileage
