We have a disco 2 tdi5 that has started this morning missing with no power that gets worse as it is driven any ideas please.

For how long it takes to check, take the inlet to the turbo off, and check that isn't fecked.

Any smoke?
Pressure in water pipes or buddle/overheating signs?

Tom

No smoke, no over heating signs where is the turbo so we can check? I know we should know but ...........

I'm not overly familiar with discos or td5's but:
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=d...lub.net%2FClub%2FHTML%2FTd5engine.htm;300;213

At the back of the engine bay, under the metal heat shield - there is a large (80-90mm ish) pipe going to it from the air box at the font behind the headlight....loosen the clip with a screwdriver and slide the pipe off the turbo: are the veins fine, and is the shaft free to spin my hand.

It will be oily...

HTH

You don't give much info here, I presume its misfiring,is it intermittently, is it permanent, is there smoke, what colour is the smoke, did you perhaps put bad fuel in just before this misfire started. You see there is plenty you are not telling us, but the most common fault I came across if all the basics are correct is the injector harness. Basics are, good fuel, good fuel pressure, cooling system good, induction system good, compression good.
