8' might fit, but not two 9'+ kayaks. One might fit if the front
passenger seat is folded down but not both of them, and that limits
seating to driver and one or two behind him, depending on the 1/3 2/3
split in the folding 2nd seat. You might get one or two 2X4's in but not
kayaks. Roof rack on a SUV, trailer, crew cab pickup with lumber rack
type sports rack, or 8' bed pickup with tailgate down, or 8' bed with
kayaks projecting up over cab or out over the top of tailgate. Highly
unlikely that the old wagon fit 9' either unless they stick up over the
front seat or maybe you gain that extra foot by putting them in on an
angle; the old full size GM wagons could carry 4X8' plywood in the back
with tailgate down (77 Chev and 86 Olds, others may vary).
