Hi,

With regards to a pervious thread, my turbo unit is officialy wasted.

Does anyone have or know of a good used Turbo unit for a 1987 Turbo Diesel engine, which they might want to sell me?

Droped a 200tdi in place of a TD and still got the TD perhapes....?

Theres an old TD engine wiv a new turbo on it for sale on ebay, im gona try that.

But at least new ones do exhist...

I was looking at the buy it now price of the top one, if you end up paying that much then a new one doesn't seem that much more.

Found a new one for £250 +vat, ill go with that thanks for the advice.

Get the repair kit and rebuild it!

Unless the turbine and / or impeller blades are knackered by impact damage, the kit replaces all moving parts, and is easy to fit.

Repair kit u say?

Ive not seen those, where would i find one of them? The place that said they could get me that turbo has now changed there mind, so im still looking for alternatives.

Oh, and how easy esactly, i thought u had to balance the turbo blades so it worked properly?

I have in my hand (on my desk) a beautiful bubble-pack repair kit for a Garret T2/25 Turbo

The kit contains EVERYTHING required to restore a well-used turbo to as new condition, provided it hasn't sucked in nuts and bolts or rocks. In other words, assuming the inlet compressor impeller and the exhaust turbine are undamaged, this sort of kit is for you.

There is no mystery to a turbo - they are dead simple devices. You'll be amazed how simple when you strip one down.

They are dead easy to repair. You just need to be careful, as there are some small parts, and everything needs to be nice and clean and oily as you re-assemble it.

I think the kit I have came from Lucas Service UK, aka LSUK.

I think the kit cost about £50 or so. I probably don't need it urgently. If your Turbo is a Garret Air-Research T2/25, we could maybe do something!
