mythical 17" at tyre

The short answer is no ....but in theory there is - 235/65 17" on a 7J rim. On paper they have dimensions that should physically fit.

So some tyre dealer may try to sell you them and they may look like they are OK.

Depending on the tyre brand the clearance between the edge of the tread and the front strut spring cup may be as small as 3mm.

I tried to fit a Continental Cross Contact A/T and was not happy with how close it was.

Also they give a lift of 1" bigger sidewall so the speedo will be reading low.

I run 235/55 17 Conti4X4Contact with no problems at all but not an A/T tread.

I've not stuck yet - or had any difficulty off-road - on grass or green lanes or snow they are fine - but you may be wanting to try something a bit more ambitious - like ploughed fields perhaps. :decision:

Singvogel.
