Hi All
I have been looking at buying a landrover for a while and am torn between 90 and 110. I always liked the look of the 90 but can see the benefits in terms of space in the 110. I am buying as a toy/ secondary work vehicle and have spotted a very tidy looking 94 plate 110 van, as yet not sure which engine it has so was wondering what thoughts were on the older tdi's and if either the 200or 300 tdi' are better. Any advice greatly received.

Welcome,

If you plan on using the back space for carrying either people or things then do double check the 90 has enough space, it is surprising how quickly they fill up.

Cheers

Welcome! I've recently just bought my first land rover as well. I went for a 1985 2.5na 110 it was good value for money however, the engine is nothing to write home about. I have time to make a cup of tea by the time it gets up to 30mph. :D

Welcome to LZ! :)
The general idea is to post your own introduce thread, not post in someone else's! ;)
But I doubt if it matters much.
Land Rovers were never meant to be fast, but you can probably set it up a bit better if you want to.
2.5 NA are quite a good engine.

Oops, never meant to hijack his thread just making conversation! :p I agree if only I could sort out my ignition wiring..

Thanks, I agree with the comment about room in the back and think the 110 does offer practicality in that sense. I am not expecting too much in terms of performance.

Hi and welcome!

Nothing wrong with either the 200 or 300, although parts for the 300 are more readily available.

In terms of which is better to live with, I’ve got a 90. My wife didn’t want me to get a 110 as she thought it was too big! Personally, I find the 90 fine for my needs.

Let us know how you get on.
