Well.........
trying to sort out the missing charge light, dash lights, heater fan and oil pressure light wiring, I came across the fact that most wires in my series dash are either green or blue....
After trying to trace the wires I found the ignition light from the bulb was wired to the fan motor :-0
I gave up and started again from the ignition key ( I didn't help myself much as I only had red wire in the garage !) anyway got the light to work, but could do with a different holder as I could only get the bulb to work after I insulated the holder from the dash. The oil light had the correct wires on them, but disappeared into the loom without going any where near the fuse box, traced the wire ( white with brown I think) it went to the connection box, other side of this was a green wire which was taped up as at was free after i changed the starter solenoid....! ( I posted a question about my original solenoid before ) so yep the oil light had been wired up to the starter solenoid!!. Putting the wire back into the right place soon had the oil light sorted, it even went off when I ran the engine... Phew!!
Not sure about the fan switch, especially as it's only got one wire from it now... Seems to work on full, on nothing depending on how hard I flick the switch....
After that little lot the dash lights were no bother, except I broke a bulb putting it all back in. Oh and I had the bonnet off and it's raining so I've probably created more problems
