Hi all. I thought id finally start my progress thread so heres the story so far
ive been doing window tints, graphics and general car modifying for the last 5 years and 1 of my customers has had me work on about 5 defenders and over time i fell in love with them. soooo i managed to convince my mrs to let me buy one for a toy :) had it 2 months now
heres the day we picked it up. i liked the colour but had my mind set on white, so here goes

sorry for the long intro into it but as its already done upto there and ive only just got photo bucket then thats what happens. hope you all like it so far and i will get some better quality piks when its all done as the blackberry isnt to good as a camera

Really Nice job mate - nearly finished doing mine up and wish I had thought about that centre console - looks great. You going to leave the bonnet all black?

cheers matey, the middle seat was knackered and tbh they are a bit useless anyway because of legroom and people gettin in the way of gearstick etc, the centre console and armrest have definately tidied the front up a lot.
im thinking of doing the bonnet either white with the black chequer or carbon to match the roof, i was hoping to get the outside finished this weekend but gotta do some work :(

my friends got a pick up td5 but i like all the space inside the hardtop and with work it helps out. the green did look cool for an off-roader but the mrs threw a wobbly and even tho its my toy whats mine is hers eh? haha. i am happy with the white and never saw a white one in the area then someone round the corner took a bucket of white paint and a roller to his :( mine looks better tho :)

thanks, i forgot all the small details of other stuff done,
tints all round, refurbed and painted bull bar, chequerplate, clear lens covers, wind deflectors, alarm and central locking, carpeted the whole inside black
all little things that get forgot about but add to the look
cant wait to get it finished so i can take it laning and get it filthy :)

i was going to take the coupon in when i filled up to see what they said haha but seing as the coupon is 3 years older than me they might refuse as it may be non transferable :( im going to keep it as a reminder i think
i want it to look fresh and keep it running on the origional 19j engine so it keeps its roots

cheers matey and im well chuffed with the outcome, i was origionally thinking about selling it on after for another one + some profit but we both want to keep this now and may even be used as 1 of our wedding cars along with horse and carriage :)

Have you got/can you take some clearer pictures of the metal fragments?
found this metal in there if anyone knows what it may be? Engine seems to be running sound tho and turs out it still leaked exactly the same so got to do the rear oil crank seal :(

img-20130804-00322.jpg

im not sure where they are now, they might have been binned matey as i had the sump off over a month ago, its a 19j engine if that makes much difference to what it could be?

Looks great.
I imagine that there are a lot of Landi owners lie myself, waiting, no, hoping to hear how much the wrap costs, and how it wears !

Is it a reasonable DIY or is it like plastering, ie looks easy untill you have half a ton of plaster on the ground and f..all on the wall !!

Again, nice job mate ...:tea::tea:

Can I just say that you have done a stirling job on this Defender. It looks well smart. They are a real labour of love and the end result is worth the effort. Love this.
