run 31x10.50's. I realize its a lot of miles...any ideas on how i could
get more top end power without rebuilding the engine. Too spendy....
Any low buck ideas would be appreciated...

You might want to check your VIN/Model Info plaque:
http://4crawler.cruiserpages.com/4x4/ToyVIN.shtml

If you don't have the 4.88 gearing option, that would be a big help with performance, as you would be running a 3" taller tire
than stock. That is the gearing that Toyota installed on trucks equipped with the 31" factory tire option.

Is it the original exhaust? If it is it was too restrictive to begin
with and now the cat is probably pluged up. Cut it off there and put a
straight through muffler and new cat on there, that with a K&N filter
will get you about all you're going to get out of it.

My 1993 SR5 V6 has a G254 axle code which I believe is 4.56. Did you
usually get 4.88s in the US with the v6?

I think the factory 4.88 gears came with an 31" tire vehicle with automatic trannys, maybe only V6s had this option, in the
4Runner it started in '91, any 4Runner w/ factory swing out tire carrier had the 31" tire option.

My door sticker says 225/75R15 tires but maybe they all said that.

You can ask over at yotatech too. Breathing is gonna help most of all, but
check out www.yotatech.com too for more suggestions.

They don't call that 3.0 V6 a "3.slow" for nothing. I have the 91 with the
3.slow and auto tranny.

I do have to say I enjoy it on the trail though. But it's not a street
queen.
