I've introduced my defender project but this is my 109. Had 12 owners including myself and I bought it as my first car three years ago. However never been able to afford insurance so my dad drives it. It's a working vehicle and ongoing renovation. It's a 2.25 diesel with series 3 grill and rear tub. Someone wanted dual fuel tanks. It's appearance has changed a fair bit over time but I've know found a look that suits it's role and my taste. Hopefully some pictures.

But now looks like:

What it looked like after a bit of paint, was just in white primer when I bought it

If you are happy with the look then leave as is,only obvious non 2a are as you say grill, easy change if you can find one. Door hinges [I used to have a angle bracket on bulkhead screen bolt for better mirror position]The rear tub may be original despite rear fill position it being a late 2a on the reg.

Has hole blanked off for fog light. Don't know when that was made standard. Plus number plate should be on the drivers side for all series 2's (shouldn't it?) however no holes for ever been on drivers side for number plate or the light. But don't have the ridiculous money for a proper grill. Pretty happy as it's the third year of completely trouble free motoring. Just jump in and goes. Although now I've said that it's bound to tempt fate

sweet looking truck, the brown canvas goes better with the body colour than the blue one imho, but I would wait till the blue wears out, decent ones aren't cheap

I do like the look when playing about with filters on the old phone. Just reminds me of a classic farm scene:

you lucky git...:)

Only a small amount of luck involved mate .....(Well only that that allowed a £400 S2a station wagon to trundle 1300 miles or so in a week about a month after buying it lol)

A Mrs that loves series landrovers and wild camping as much as I do AND having a bunch of mates that love series Landrovers too .

Was a complete blast AND just shows what a series can do .....Trailers and shows ...Pahhh lol

The Maltese grill makes so much difference. Lots of lovely landies there. Do prefer lights in the wings but I've always grown up around them with the lights in the wings.
