just wondering what sort of mpg you regular users get from 1999 4.6 auto I'm getting 18 is that about right

sounds about right for a petrol from what ive seen on here. Take your foot of the gas earlier when slowing down.. My diesel lasts a bit longer like that. It also saves everyone else' behind you...:p

I am about 20 on normal roads and about 22 on motorway.
That is just from the dash message tho, never actually measured it
Mine is a 97 V8 HSE auto

about 19 mpg around town and to work but as low as 14 when towing the horse box !! thank god the mrs don't do many shows these days.:)

I can't use the onboard calculator as I run exclusively on LPG. On our trip to Spain where LPG isn't so available I had to go petrol for a hundred or so miles at a time. I zero d the secondary monitor and, thanks to the wife's caravan loading, I was averaging one to the gallon:rolleyes:. Seriously 12 mpg over the Pyrenees and about 15point something chugging along the motorways. When I first bought it before it's conversion I was reading 20 to 24. From the Midlands to North Wales.

my first rangie a 1974 3.5 did 8-12 mpg.

B..... hell, I've equalled that when I had WW2 trucks:eek: The 3.5efi autos I've owned have returned 21 - 23 on a long journey & that's including travelling at the legal speed limit on roads that allow it, calculated using the full-tank to full-tank method.

it was thirsty! i towed a twin axle trailer with a jaguar mk2 on it,

6mpg was the average!!

i had a suspicion that the carbs were unbalanced and too rich! according to a mechie i knew the carbie models should easily see 16mpg.:D

18-20sounds a bit.....high! Especially on a gems(pre2000) possible in a Thor on a run with a tailwind.12-15 more like! Lpg can play havoc with the dash displays accuracy though.official stats(gems)are urban 12.3 Xtra urban 22.7 combined 17.4

4.6 GEMS on LPG I've seen gets between 12 - 15 mpg on town driving with the odd A road. Better on a run or petrol.

93 rrc 3.9 auto, 11mpg
Freelander 1 td4 manual, 46mpg

freelander goes a road to work, motorway home,
tried it once with the RRC, broke down on the way haha
