MOT problem?

Good afternoon guys.

I have my MOT coming up soon and i also have some river water in one of my font headlights!

The lamp works fine but could this cause me problems at the MOT station?

I would say it was a definite 'major' fail as it will effect light output and durability of the bulb. "You must assess damaged or repaired lamps for security, colour, light output and durability."

Will screw up beam pattern badly, even water on the elns can pay havoc with beam pattern.
Cheap as chips on ebay, treat the old girl.

So remove the headlight and drain out the water
Easy job that will take less than half an hour

You can do that, but as it dries it will leave streaks on the inside of the glass lens etc.

If you do loads of water get some old series sealed beams.

They're cheap to replace, just swap one out

Easy to dry out, remove lamp tip water out dry off with a hair dryer.
