MOT and Tub Off help please.

My 110 Pick up failed MOT on a few holes in chassis, mainly on the large box section piece that sits under tub. My welder (who is brilliant) said Tub would have to come off to do it. (11.45 this morning). Got it back to him by 3.30 with tub off which I didnt think was bad for first time!

A few things will need sorting and could do with help please. 1) The diesel tank filler, has a metal section which is held to tub by by 4 screws (by filler cap) and then goes into the rubber hose. This has a hole in the metal bit (with the vent tube on it) it so will need a new one. What is it called? Can't find one anywhere on www. Also the rubber hose looks like it may be a small fortune?
2) Had to take roof off, which was obviously well sealed with some kind of rubber compund above windscreen. Can I get some new and what's it called?

Finally, not looking forward to connecting all the loom wires at the back end when its all back together

oops I labelled all the wires before I did this. It might be a long evening with a volt meter?

Thought of that but most seem to be colour coded and stuck some tape on those which weren't. So hopefully not too bad...........

the wires are colour coded so should not be a big deal, sikaflex will do the job on windscreen to roof joint ends etc .

The fuel filer neck has a tenancy to go porous and can be expensive - was the last time i looked

Think it was on lr series

made that mistake on my 90. when i stripped it i wanted to change to filler with locking cap so lobbed the old one complete with hose, filler cost about 20 quid with locking cap, hose cost nearly 80

Thanks all,
One last question. Have given it all a good clean and notice that I am missing a few of the rubbers which are riveted to the ally cross members under the tub. There are two on each cross member, 12 in all. Where may I find these please?

You will be better off with RTV, you don't need the bonding properties just the sealing side, sikaflex will be a bastard to get off next time...

Would anyone recommend I look at any other jobs to do as I have the tub off??

Personally i would give as much of the chassie a good clean & paint while you have it exposed.....

just in case you haven't already though of that ;-)

I would do just that as well. Much easier to scrape and paint from the top than underneath. Check rear brake pipes?
