Sure the topic of greasing props has been mentioned 1000 times but ive just bought a new wide angle morris bailey rear prop for my 200tdi 90 defender and it only has 2 grease nipples (1 on each UJ) which has surprised me as i thought it would have one also on the slider itself. (the photo online shows one on the slider)
It also does not appear to have the rubber screw cap for the slider to prevent water entering as my old one does so i am not completely sure how normal this.

Is there anyone who has a Morris Bailey prop that can comment whether this is ok or would it be worth contacting the supplier (PaddockSpares) to double check on everything supplied to me.
Ideally i do want to sort it out as quickly as possible and get the new prop on but not seeing a grease nipple on the slider has thrown me a bit.
For this, would you just pull apart the slider and lubricate by hand?

thanks

I have a bailey Morris one bought from Glynn Lewis, it has 3 grease nipples, but his a made to his specifications

You could fit a series type rubber boot over the splines.Have seen some shafts with a blank plug where nipple goes.
I Would have just gone for the standard £60 britpart prop and slightly better UJs but reading online thought i would spend a bit more and get something reputable and assumed Bailey Morris brand would be no different from Paddocks, especially at £208 or so. For £250, i could have got something better straight from Glynn Lewis.

Will call Paddocks tomorrow and let them know im not exactly satisfied as the prop arrived wrapped up loose with other items in cardboard (from Broccoli packaging) and a tonne of tape round it.
I would usually not care about this but it was heavily scratched in some areas and edges have not been burred leaving it sharp. Even the UJs feel tight in one direction.

Ring Paddcks and let them know of your concerns.
They've always been very good with me, and they would want to know about the sharp edges with the flanges not being deburred!
