Following on from my previous post I have now managed to get the tailgate window down but have trapped wires underneath the window.Does anyone know how to power up the window motor to get it to raise.Only need it to go couple of inches.Found a pair of relays in the rear booth area (brown in colour). Are these the relays for the window mechanism.Getting really frustrated with this. Thanks for any help

Sounds like you may need to remove the rear door card!!

Should take no more than a hour! I will also give you a chance to check all the other bits??

I have already managed to get the door card off.The proclem is that the window has powered into the open position and i cant get it to go up.Is there a way of powering up the window mechanism using a seperate battery onto the rear of the motor. If so what terminals do I need to feed.

All done. Don’t know what the issue was but put everything back together having spent hours dismantling everything and hey presto everything works as it should. Must be some kind of witchcraft😂😂

Try not to spread the same problem over multiple threads.

It makes it difficult to follow both for your problem and future reference by people with similar problems.

In your other thread, I mentioned that Rave was your friend with circuitry. From Rave...

Looking at this, it appears that the dual Up/Down relay when 'not in use' provide a path from the Earth K108 to pins C612-6 and C612-3 respectively.

When the Up or Down button is pressed the relay then switches from the Earth to the power feed coming in to the Relay on C043-2.

So when the Window Up switch is pressed, the motor will be getting an earth on C612-3 and 12V on C612-6.

This is taken from page 5.2 of the Circuit Diagrams in Rave for a 98 model car.

C612 is the connector on the motor. From Rave....

I have not tried this. I don't know if any of the other pins need setting for the motor to function. It will probably be described in the Rave section describing how the window mech works.
