On my TD5 110 the steering makes a moaning noise when you are turning the wheel quickly at low speed, such as when parking.
The missus's 2003 90 TD5 does it as well, but worse.
Our 2006 90 bought new (sold to buy the 110) did it pretty much from new.
Is there a cure for this? As in some bush that can be greased. Or is it a Defender "characteristic".
It never happens while driving at normal speeds.

I wondered if it might be one of the bushes in the steering column?

I will also check the pump for leaks as suggested above.

Mine has been doing this for seven months. I am keen to hear what you think this might be? I had a leak from power steering and thought this was the cause, but not the case? Seals changed; no leaks but it continues to groan when on left turning into parking, or away from stationary turning left on slow manoeuvre? I can feel it in the steering column too, just a slight rumble and low groaning sound.

I get this when my other half drives :D
Normally moaning about its bumpy and she can't park

This is identical to the symptoms of an issue I have - did anyone ever find a solution ??
Thanks.

Turn the wheel quickly at low revs and the pump don't like it and complains. Air in the system make noise. Fresh ATF can help.
