My 2000, ML 270 has a leak in the passenger footwell. For some reason
I think it might be due to the sunroof's drainage system - but that's just
a hunch. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Alan, London.

Sorry I just reread that last post and my request is a bit unclear. Does any
body know if it is a common problem on the M class, or is it just my luck!?

Congratulations, you are the proud owner of what was voted the worst car
in Britain. "Build quality, reliability and dealer competence all fall
embarassingly short." (Top Gear magazine, December 2004).

The ML is a dog, and if you complain to the dealers or expect them to
fix the faults then you'll be on a long road to disappointment.

If it were a Landrover it'd be classed as either a feature or character. :)

As it's a merc then maybe the local merc dealer might help. There aren't
many fan clubs or merc specific specialists that I've heard of for the ML,
just the opposite in fact.

My experience was not far off this. The reliability was good but build
quality and dealer competence was appalling. Not a dog but not far off
either. I couldn't get along with the poor lateral ride at all. It kept
pushing passengers from side to side on roads that are smooth in other cars.

Want a big 4x4 built in the US? Buy a Merc or BMW.
Want a big 4x4 built by Teutonics? Buy a Jeep...

Mad, innit?

My Merc was actually built in Austria but there was no difference compared
to ones built in Alabama.
