Hi my FL2 mirrors have started creaking when i lock the car.Its like they are very tight when folding in or they need oiling or something.I,m worried the glass may break.Anyone else come accross this and is there anything i can do to make them smooth and quiet ??

I doubt the glass will break but it sounds like the fold mechanism is wearing out.

Try some dry lubricant on the folding part

Corrosion builds up on the mechanism and causes the noise

Does it need the door panel off or can i just remove the tweeter speaker ??

Silicone lube spray in the joint as you open and close them should do the job,

apparently if you push the mirror forward firmly with both hands till it clicks and you think you have broke it the mirror is free moving and you kan see the hinge to lube it up
