Hi all,
As mentioned in the title above, Took my freelander to the garage today and the mechanic said my freelander does not have HDC and had not seen this before, therefore was wondering if any on this site knew if there were anf built without HDC :confused:

Cheers

Pre 1999 they were optional, then the 50th anniversary edition came with all the extras that were going to be standard from 2000 anyway, including ABS and HDC.

I had a 1.8 50th in that nice green/blue flip. I drove that baby for 60K completely trouble free

You say about commercials, mine use to be a commercial before I put seats windows in it etc

But mine has the hdc in front of the gear selector in the moulding on the floor mine is a 2002 TD4

So I was lucky then I picked the year that abs, hdc etc was fitted

Never used it, can it only be used off road or would it be a good idea to use it down a steep hill with snow etc.

It controls the abs doesn't it

Gary

There was something about the 50th that was special. My V6 ES is better equipped but doesn't have that certain something the 50th edition had!! The little badge on the B post ment something ;)
Think my little badge has come off over the years Im afraid, was it just stuck on Nodge? Its deffo a 50th as it says so on my V5 form ..I'll have to have a look for one on e bay:)

Yep from what I've read (never used it mysen) it will take you down steep muddy / snowy hills , there's some interesting posts about it in this link http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/hdc-210039-3.html ;)

Looks nice Brack, Only had mine less than a week love it already I have 2xprolapse discs in my back so could not get out of our old car very well.
Thanks, Sorry about your back, my wife had the same, her pain was horrendous until she had surgery. Hope your Freelander serves you well and....
enjoy it bud.:tea:

I feel hdc is a greater use on an auto than a manual due to the autos low engine braking. Hdc is a worthwhile addition on the Freelander.

I've used it once, just to see if it worked and it did. Fair doos if you go orff road but otherwise bit pointless!! I'm sure I'll be told am wrong but just my opinion.
