Would the center brake light being out on a 2000 RR 4.6 HSE cause the message center to sound numerous beeps on start up?

hmmm, is the ENTIRE centre light cluster not working?? The centre rear brake light is made up of 5 (if i remember correctly) little lights. If ONE goes out then the message centre doesnt report it. Looking at the handbook in RAVE it looks like the message centre doesnt report it if all the lights go out anyway. So I would guess no, the message centre wouldnt report it.

When you get the beeps do you get any message on the message centre??

The only message that comes up is EAS Fault but that is due to a coil conversion. It also has the EAS override module installed so I was assuming it was not that. Am I wrong? Also, I believe I posted on this a while ago but maybe you could shed some light on it. When I start my RR the ABS and the Brake light and the TC light stay on for a long period. I understand that the ABS is supposed to until you start driving but what about the others?

The EAS fault will give you beeps from the message centre, you should also have the EAS light lit up in the instrument cluster and have all the lights lit up on the height selector switch as well. I still have EAS so dont know how exactly the override module works BUT if you have a fault then I would guess it isnt working or it isnt plugged in?? On a side note I dont know why you would goto coils from EAS!!

Secondly, the beeps could also be caused by the fact you put the ignition key in and turn it on before you shut the drivers door. This would cause beeps to tell you the ignition key is in.

Lastly, the ABS lights etc. The ABS light stays on until you go over 5mph. The red brake light will stay on until you take the handbrake off and im not sure about the TC light but reading RAVE it sounds like it should go off once the vehicle is started.

You wont be able to get rid of the EAS fault unless you get it reset by Testbook or Rovacom. At the same time they can check out any issues you might have with the traction control/braking system.

Hi,

The ABS light and The ! symbol stay lit, until the booster bump on the powered brake system has reached pressure. you will hear it running. so just see if the lights go out once the pump stops running. You do have to be going quicker than 5 MPH. You could be looking at a tired booster pump?

If you have the key in the ignition you should get a message center fault saying Key in Ignition. you will only get this if the Drivers door is open. In fact you should get a message centre caption with a lar lar's. Sound like something isn't quite right. I tend a few ranging from Brake light swith to a realy anoying Alarm fault which I cant trace. but thats a diffrent story.
