I am a new member to Landy Zone having just purchased a P38 after owning Disco 2 facelift for 10 Years.
Have a green light on heating/air con display, looks like a book can anyone give me an indication what to look at first. Thanks Alan
 
Hi Alan and welcome.

the book symbol can come on on the HVAC for a multitude of reasons, blend motors are a common cause. the only way to know for sure is to get it on RR diagnostics. i'm not that far from you at all, however my diagnostics are on the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme so dedicated to my vin number.. maybe someone in our area has a nanocom they can plug you into.

As a new member to LZ, can I offer the single most useful piece of information about this forum.. Never, ever, ever, ever.... no not even then...ask about putting a P38 on springs.
 
Many thanks for your info Adam. I am not far from More 4x4 and Keith Gott so will take it to one or other. RR is a Bordeaux diesel model not a dripper as far as I can see. 1 owner for last 13 years loads of history and seems in good nick, few spots of lacquer lift on paint, no radio code, waring light and a small sag in the headlining at the rear. Have no intention whatsoever of changing suspension. Regards Alan
 
if you want a good paint guy, mine is in yateley.. here's my classic he did complete strip and paint on..

a Bordeaux is worth keeping in good shape. the headlining you can do, there's a walkthrough on here, Radio code.. hmm the RR dealer might be able to get that. do you have the manuals ? its possible its written down in one

it all depends on what the surface is like to work on. personally I took everything off, lights out rubbers off, door handles out bumpers off, plastics off, door cards off, then trailered it over to him. he's a trade guy so a big job can take time as he has a constant flow of dealers who pick things up from BCA Blackbushe and drop off to him there's pictures on my rest thread of the work in progress, it went to back to bare metal, dings flattened out, then painted, but I did all the donkey work of stripping it to give him a clear run at it..

You can fit your own LPG system there is nothing to prevent you....once installed (to the LPG Code of Practise - can be purchased for about £30 from the LPGA(?) - I have a copy somewhere but I don't have access to a copier at the moment to scan it in for you)....you can arrange for an inspection to be carried out by an LPGA approved installer who will check and setup the system for you and issue a certificate and register it on the LPGA register - which will satisfy the insurers. There is/was a company who advertise on the Bay of E who do an inspection and registration for £150 (no affiliation).

I am and pretty much always have been with Admiral insurance who have covered the many LPG cars I have owned and installed.
