Now I have always been a good fan of BF Goodrich tyres, especially the All Terrains, as these are what I have always fitted, even got a set on now.

However I have been looking at changing them for Mud Terrains (which is a shame as they have probably half if not more of the tread left).

Thing is, I am becoming a fan of the Maxxis tyres, I run their performance tyres MA Z1's on my Merc and MG, and now they have off road tyres...the one that caught my eye was the Maxxis MT764 'Bighorn' Mud Terrain tyres in 265 75 16 (I currently have 265 70 16's so not much difference in size so they should fit with no issues). They also do the 85's which I was slightly tempted with but only have a 1" lift at present so reckon they will be too tight to fit....

Has anyone had any experience of these, esp as they are £443.80 for 4 fitted - and thats for the 10 ply one, seems a steal from my local Maxxis supplier?

Do you reckon I will squeeze 85's in...

Am looking at raising up another inch when I get some new nuts for the shocks, as they are completely stuck on  but that may not be for a while...

oh, one more for luck....

Well I am guessing the 85's are 15mm bigger on the side walls than my 70's, so that will add 30mm to the overall diameter, however I am also guessing that Muds have more 'chunky' tread which will give more diameter than my A/T's which I reckon will make them too tight with my current setup - might just stick with the 75's if I can find enough pennies from somewhere....

I think the fronts might have enough room, and I do have the option of cutting back the sliders like I have done at the front, and then trying to move the flexi arch a bit to get a little bit more room as that would give me an extra inch I reckon?

Not really, the 85/70 bit is a percentage of the width

wow, def not!!

Think I will stick with the 75's as that will increase the diameter by about an inch I reckon going by that

Found this pic when I searching for opinions....D2 fitted with 265/75/16 Bighorns...

Couldn't find out anything else about it, but it looks pretty standard, and not much room in the arches....so given I am modd'd reckon they will fit ok

That looks a good arch full!

But yeh reckon you could comfortably increase your diameter by an inch or so like you say.

Pics after - obviously :D

Did some more work to the old girl at the weekend, and raised her up another inch, so some before and after pics :D

Also trimmed down the rear of the rock sliders whilst I had the welder out, so I can now just re-position the rear flexi arch to give a bit more room too ;)

Just would be nice to shift my old alloys and also if I had someone interested in the A/T's I have fitted now to help offset the cost of the new Muds, then I will be good go.....

Thats looking better!
Now you definitely need to fill them tho ;)
Sadly new tyres were the first thing I bought for mine mate so cant help you there.
