decided to remove exhaust and inlet manifold so I can re-gasket and discount any air leaks etc that may attribute my random misfire.

so, what goes on first?
inlet to exhaust - then to head?
inlet on head, then exhaust on head then join them together?

I'm sure someone posted the best way to assemble on here a while back but I can't find thread!

Bolt em together and then fit to head as 1 unit. Tis how I did mine anyway and if your changing the gasket for the carb hot spot thingy I think it's the only way of doing it

Put them together first (but only finger tight) bolt them to head and then tighten the two manifolds together - only way to get a gas tight seal to the head in my experience

cheers guys, I have the two head inlet metal gaskets, one head exhaust gasket, one square inlet/exhaust gasket and a selection of new nut. Also purchased a de-coke kit and an exhaust assembly kit so hoping I have all the bits required to do the change!

muchos

You may find you don't need the two inlet gaskets, I think the long gasket does both inlet and exhaust or the one I got did anyway! Don't quote me but think originally it was just the inlet that used a gasket the exhaust was straight to head

cheers for that, I'll use the single gasket (I have 2 anyway) and will just save the metal ones in case I need to take up any warpage later lol
