just sold my old 98 freelander petrol and bought a 53 plate instead looks good but first impressions were that the new seats are not as wide or comfy and that the gear ratios seemed a bit shorter /lower if you know what I mean and seems to lack get up n go of the old motor-is it worth getting a K&N filter to let her breath a bit better is there a fuel mod that can be done to increase power a bit without breaking the bank or needing your own private oil well?

Hi Edge - welcome to Looneyzone.

do yu see the bit above wot says "search" - well, if yu use that and look fur "K and N" yu will find gazillions of threads on it.

but to cut a long story short, sum peeps think they is the dogs spheroids and others say they is the doggies deposits. Take ya pick.

Should have stuck this in the Freelander section.

K&N cone filters suffer from heat soak when warm, they should be enclosed. Look at ITG panel filters that fit in the existing filter box.

Best of the lot for power gain is the Vader induction system, pricey at £200 plus. Lives up to its name as you will sound like Darth Vader.

Dont trust the power gain figures of any aftermarket product, you will see a reduction in flat spots on acceleration though ;)

1.8 k-series with MEMS 3 ECU have two extra CATS on the downpipe, giving only 115bhp compared to the 118bhp of the older models MEMS 1.9
