Hello, i've changed the air filter, engine oil and transmission oil is recently partially changed by previous owner.

Im just wondering what else i should do?
The air suspension has been overhauled/ done by its previous owner and is working good.

Is it just the diff oils which is left? and cooling fluid flush (which i need, brown gunk.. uugh)

The car has run 280 000KM.

Is transfer box easy to drain and fill? Is the transferbox sharing fluid/cooling with the autobox?
Should i do the transfer box? My low gear does not work, i think it may be the ecu or the wiring to the motor. The motor should work, gonna force fuse into it tomorrow and see if it goes to neutral. Also gear level is flashing.
(note my beepy beep is disabled so my car ain't beeping no more. <--previous owner again)

I want my car to last a nice while. Sure itty bittys comes up but i'd just want some general maintenence done, properly :)

Any winter preparations which should be done for theese cars? its like 2-3 months for winter, i want stuff done. o_O:rolleyes:

In front of RAVE it has the service sheets showing what needs to be done and when but off the top of my head:

Engine oil and filter.
Air filter.
Fuel filter.
Diff oil.
Transmission oil.
Transfer box oil.
Grease UJs.
Brake fluid flush. Check brake pads and discs for wear.
Pollen filters.
Coolant flush and replacement.
Battery if not sealed unit.
Power steering fluid.
EAS dryer.
Glow plugs (I like Beru).
Check handbrake shoes are adjusted and not worn.

If you really want to go to town you can remove the cam cover and in the top of it there's a wire mesh but you probably cannot see it under alll the gunk. Clean the lot out and as much of the breather system as you can.

Next time you have the exhaust off check the turbo waste gate.

The next big job waiting in the wings will be the FIP, possibly the in-tank pump and probably the transfer box Morse chain and viscous coupling. Then there's the engine timing chain and sprockets. However, these cars tend to throw enough at you without going looking for trouble so I would stick with the usual service items. Of course, a previous owner might have done all the big jobs already.

Great, thanks. Will go ahead and order stuff and get some stuff done.
Thank you so much for answering :)

I hope the big jobs will wait for atleast a while. Hopefully my rangie will go like a train trough the winter. My old beru plugs will be tested in the winter i suppose, i have 6 spare FEBI ones.

Also, really off topic, but im quite eager or in mind of wanting a raised air intake (for fun, and the look)

Does it come with pros and cons? i see island 4x4 sell a terrafirma one for a decent price.

Never tried one but I have seen them. Having been through a river that was somewhat higher than usual and almost flooding the engine (fortunately it didn't get past the air-filter) I can see the possibility. I suspect it is probably a bit noisier and may reduce power a little (on assumption a very long pipe will reduce flow more than a short run). Depends how much wading you plan on doing. People doing a lot of wading where the cabin isn't watertight move the BECM up to the roof but that's a horrible job.

Ok, cheers. Thank you for your help and time :)
