Scotland,
An odd bit of good news for a change. About 18 months ago my o/s wing mirror went a bit off colour. Something to do with the lamination or delamination and the stealers wanted over £100 to fix the issue. It wasn't impairing my view from the mirror so I left it. As usual there were bigger issues to deal with.
Over the months, I started to notice a creeping retreat of said off colour looks, until it is now as per pic. The retreat seems to tie in with cold weather, which is when heated seats/heated windscreen are used more, which in turn is when heated mirrors switch in. I can't remember if it's seats or windscreen that bring the mirrors on.
Either way, it's working. So for anyone else with the same issue, bide your time and this is one fault that may just magically fix itself.
