Hi all - I have bough last summer a 1987 LR110 5dr COnverted to Isuzu 2.8 TD (for £4k)I am in the process of making a few upgrades to allow for Eu travel (Scandinavia) and also planning surf trip to Morocco. Thanks to eBay for low cost parts!
Whilst the Izuzu engine so far has proven an absolute star for reliability and performance, with torrents of torque and power coupled with excellent fuel consumption, I am slightly concerned that if I have engine issues when abroad I might have trouble in getting help, as usually the conversion set up is an excuse for the LR experts to claim they know nothing and the Isuzu / GM dealers to also claim they know nothing. What is the view from the collective wisdom??

Also, whilst I expect that I will be keeping the Isuzu engine for a while or until it dies, I am replacing the standard 110 Transfer box (1:1.67) with a Disco 1:1.2 and fit it to the heavy duty LT85 gearboxwhich will give a slightly improved experience on motorways.

In the process I'll also have the clutch replaced, incl. the thrust bearing, that started being a bit noisy. Again, can anyone suggest as to which is the most likely clutch to be required - is there a Britpart LR LT95 clutch heavy duty kit, or are conversions likely to have converted the clutch as well?

Also is anyone out there selling a second hand front anti roll-bars?

Needless to say all work is done on budget!!

Al the best and thanks
