Hi guys n girls,

I was wondering the 'best' place for LPG tanks on a DISCO either boot or under the sills?

Persionally I would prefer it under the sills than the boot but if its a HUGE problem for offroading then boot it is.

any advice?

Jon

Disco 1 or Disco 2? most Disco 2's you can't fit tanks under the sills as the ACE or Air Suspension stuff is in the way, on my Disco 2 the original petrol tank has been removed and two 40 litre tanks put in it's place, there is now a smal petrol tank up behind the rear wheel

yeh, 80 litre dohgnut where your fuel tanks are, and 35 litre petrol tank in the rear right wing. gives you about 170 miles to find a station when your lpg runs low, i think tweets is a twin 40 to make it easier to run being a newer EFI

undersills is bad idea, unless you have side steps you can see them when you step back, so imagin what it does to your ground clearence!

The ground clearance thing is what Im thinking. Im still in the market for a disco and want one allready converted most are undersills though.

Tweets how much roughtly did that conversion cost you if you dont mind me asking sounds like an idea soulution.

I just bought the car 3/4 months ago and car came already converted, I have the receipt for all the LPG kit - £1600 worth, but that was 4 years ago, prices will have gone up, plus not sure if the previous owner got a grant as £1600 seems too cheap.....

I might sell you mine (aint decided what I'm doing yet) 5.5K I'd be looking for, V reg(1999) Immacuate inside and out and underneath, 115,000 on the clock, new coil pack, new magnacore leads, new rocker cover gasket, and soon to be new lpg injector rails, new rear hub, spent about £1000+ on parts and labour recently, will put new discs and pads all round so she flys through MOT (October) 9/10 months road tax etc etc etc.......

Like I said, I'm still considering what I'm doing and I'll let you know after about 4 weeks what I'm doing...

yu mite have found the beginning of your problems:eek:.

LOL, did yer have to put that below the post of me trying to flog the fecker :p

Lol, we will see. I am looking to buy at end of month or around then if the right one appears :)

1600 seems quite cheep for a conversion like that to be honest have been looking into them and were talking 2k for most conversions (and hence the reasion why I want one allready converted!)

mine are underslung and it has seen some good off road and green lane action... not had any probs at all... Tucked right up out of the way though, quite a good job..

2k sounds expensive for an lpg conversions I got one from a certified garage for £1600 which is superb and save me heaps of fuel. Make sure the garage is approved as there are some shady places out there
