Hi guys. I previously wrote about clearing a hole through my Catalytic Converter, and the difference it made.
Hmm, so here's the update. And it is very interesting!
My car was going really well. New Injectors. Cleaned Turbo - with Mr Muscle.
New this and that. My car was going just as I wanted... until the exhaust began to smell.
It also began to hesitate at roundabouts and junctions when pulling into traffic.
My previous attempt to knock a hole through the Catalytic Converter was successful - to a point. The car was running better.
The Cat on my car, reacted to the hole I knocked through it. The honeycomb matrix collapsed and partially blocked the outgoing exhaust-pipe.
After removing the backbox, which was difficult, I discovered the entire exhaust pipe could not be removed from the car. It needed the height of a garage ramp to do so.
I had to swivel the exhaust-pipe to the outside of the car to remove what remained of the matrix.
Having refitted the exhaust, the car sounds not only GREAT, but like the sporty Alfa Romeo I once owned.
In addition to this, after test driving it, there was no nasty smell or hesitation anymore.
