Loose cable

Hi, I'm new here, and hoping someone can help! Just picked up a Freelander 1, 2003 TD4, which had the battery light flickering on and off. Turns out it was a cable that was resting on the pulley wheel, had worn part through, and was shorting..

But the cable was dangling loose! Can anyone tell what it is and where it should be connected. It splits off from the harness just under the horn, and has a connector, but I can't seen where it plugs in..



Any help would be most appreciated..
