looking to own my first landy.

hi. my name is steve and i live in leicestershire. never had a landy but used to have great fun in my cousins ex army landy. i am looking to buy and want to learn to be as hands on as possible. if you have any usefull info please let me know. cheers

Welcome to the forum steve d, what kind of Landy are you after? You have a big selection to pick from depending on your needs and budget. My main tip would be to take someone with you who knows a bit about Landies, there are a lot of dogs out there on the market and you could end up spending a hell of a lot of cash just to keep it up and running. Make sure you check the chassis and bulkhead for rust and holes. Take every one you look at for a good long test drive and don't be affraid to walk away if you're not 100% happy.

As for being "Hands on", don't worry, you will be!!!!!!

thanks fishface 220. need it to tow a trailer for work, need 3 seats in the front for me, my wife(think she is more exited than me about getting one) and our little boy. gotta cart stuff around for our horse, oh and of course a bit of off road!!!! was thinking swb but not sure about petrol or diesel? not gonna be doing loads of miles but will be used everyday. is there like a rough annual running cost for owning a landy or does it depend if you get a bad one or not. really appreciate your advice!!
