It seems to just be surface rust so a good going over with the wire brush on the end of the drill should sort it out. The problem with this one is with it being the van type fl there is a stupid wood floor rather than a carpet so u really cant see whats going on under there tbh. Going by the mess this was in its had a hard life and carried all sorts of ****e from dog to straw to mud etc. at first i thought it was leaking from the vent from the wheel arch but its not. I dried it all up and left it all night and after a spell of rain the only place i could see water getting in was from the door bottom left hand corner. Now this is the think it looks like its leaking after the door seal if u guys know what i mean ?

some people say to take off the seal and just put it back on again as it never goes on exactly the same - meaning it might go back on better - never tried it though mysel.

Water can also get into the screw holes on the metal trim that hold on the plastic trim over the door . Getting the plastic off to check is hard to do without breaking a lug or two .

You could spray a can of silicone spray onto the rubber seal . The silicone makes it like new and I think Optimus Prime recommends lifting the seal and re seating it .

You guys should all bin out the fitted sponge that LR put in the back ASAP. I have a piece of carpet cut to shape and at first sign of ingress can be whipped out!!

I'm in the process of sorting out my leak on the back door as well. Removed the carpet dried it all up then left it overnight to see any signs the following morning. Sure enough in the morning there was water on the floor, but only in one place.

It was coming in right on the bend of the seal opposit the bottom of the window. What I did yesterday was to move the door catch receiver back about 3mm then clean all the seal and where the seal meets the door with silicon spray. It was in my garage last night so can't comment any more as to whether it's cured it or not.

Good luck with yours.

Grayo

Cheers for all your replys guys ive cleaned the seal up and put the catch recever further back to give the door a tighter fit cheers for that little tip grayo :) just need it to **** down a rain now to see if its fixed :)

Same here waiting for rain :( It never rains when you want it to does it. LOL. Forgot to say I also lifted the guide a little just below the receiver so that it lifts the door slightly when it's closed. On the door there is a little roller which fits/slides into the guide.

Well it still seems to be leaking :( but am also going to try and lift the guide a little also and see if that helps. Am not convinced that its the seal but somehow getting in the car from the back door after the seal. Am going to strip the plastic trim off the door and the the sides and get my self in the back of it and get my son to get the hose on to it and see if i can see where its coming in from. Its slowly draving my mad :)
