Longest lasting A/T tire?

Who makes the best A/T tire for longevity/value. I'm looking for something
that will do well in snow and mud, but that's really secondary considering
the amount of pavement I eat up in a year.

I use Michelin LTX M/S. Great tire. Mostly I
drive on the pavement; it's very quiet and handles much
better than the stock AT tires. I also occasionally
drive on muddy fire and back roads in the mountains
without any problems at all. Last summer I towed a
medium sized trailer and about 1/2 ton of tools across
the midwest. Again, no problems at all.
Last year I drove from Ogden UT to Colorado
Springs CO in a blizzard (remember the week end after
thanksgiving?). Excellent snow and ice tire. No
problems at all, even on roads that had 6+ inches of
unplowed snow. These tires have great grip.
This tire is expected to last 60K miles. But I
take real good care of my tires, and expect to get a
bit more. All around great tire.

Some may laugh, but for a long lasting tire, I was impressed with the
Firestone Steeltex A/Ts that came stock on my Super Duty. I had
80,000 miles on them when I finally swapped them out. And my tires
were abused with infrequent, almost non-existent, rotations.

Traction off-road wasn't impressive, but it didn't completely suck
either.

The survey *saayyyyssss* highly unscientific and not at all useful
unless you know the credentials of the folks filling it in, plus
their preferences.

Two fairly long lived A/T tires are the Michelin LTX M+S or AT and
the Pirelli Scorpion AT. The Scorpion is a bit better in my non
humble opinion in mud. The LTX M+S makes for a great highway tire
as well, it has the typical driving on rails Michelin feel. I use
them on a GC and haven't managed to get it stuck during some rather
ill-advised playing around in Sierra snow...but admittedly I grew
up in Montana. The Michelin Pilot is a bit better for ice, not
quite as long lived. Sears has a version of the LTX M+S as well
that is quite good. None of these are real hard core off roading
tires, but I also haven't managed to get the LTX's stuck in the
alkali snot that passes for mud in some of the Nevada lakes.
