I'm getting ready to start building a camper on a Ford F350
extended van. In the long run I want to convert it to four wheel
drive, but for now I can't afford that. I was thinking of
installing a locker but I read that they can be trouble in the
snow.
This van will mostly be used on the road as a daily driver and to
get to the areas where I plan to camp. I don't really plan on any
heavy duty off road use, but I do plan to drive on logging roads
and other unimproved dirt roads. I also plan on a lot of winter
camping so I will be driving on both highways and dirt (mud) roads
in the snow.
Does anyone have any advice about lockers in the snow and on the
highway? I have been looking at the Detroit Electrac which
seems to combine the best of limited slip and lockers. Has
anyone gotten one of these yet?
Thanks,
Ron
