Wanting to find a wire that becomes live only when the ignition is off
Been told it's the orange to the stereo if someone can confirm

If you are looking for a live feed only when the ignition is off as far as I know, there isn't one!

You should be able to pick up a +ive from the White/Red feed to the ignition switch which feeds from the starter solenoid the to starter switch.

That will give you a permanent live to your radio.

there Isnt one AFAIK, what do you need it for?
If its really needed you need a NC (normally closed) relay, it passes power with no power to the coil, activate the coil, it opens the switch.

Then it woulddn't work the radio when the ignition is on

I suspect what OP actually wants is a permanent live for the memory backup on the radio - which is not what he asked for. That being the case, the nearest brown wire should do with an inline fuse assuming that the power required is negligible.

I agree with spook - probably needs the small permanent orange for the radio.
