I have a s2 1999 TD5 Disco
I want to tap into an 'ignition on' live wire to power a small 'auto on' Bluetooth GPS transmitter for my PDA, tom tom, memory map etc.... Surprisingly, the GPS works very well in the map slots above the sun visors and being up there the LED status lights are visible from the drivers position.
The easy option is to just plug it into the ciggy lighter socket. However, I bought this GPS on the strength of the auto on function. It would be nice to just install it and forget about it, and for it to be out of sight from robbing little chavs.
Has anyone got any suggestions to find an 'Ignition on' live wire where I can tap into? or fitted a gps in the same way?
I thought about under the bonnet in the jack/battery box but It's nice to be able to see the status lights...
any thoughts?
