Now my speedometer isn't working. Must be linked to the auto-eleccy taking off the dials dash to wire the sensor. They're like decomposed bakelite my little cream plugs behind the speed, fuel and temp dials. They're either broken or crumbly and fragile. The cream bit of bakelite has snapped at the end of the speedometer cable going into the dial. Does this mean I need a new dials dash or can you buy the brittle cream baynot clip things? I dunno what to type in google, ebay etc. to find the answer to this question. Cheers in advance if you can answer.

You need a new Speedo cable for that problem.
The clock lights thing can be sorted but I can't remember how but it's been discussed on here for sure. You won't need new dials, fret not.

Thanks for that. I'll try and find the thread :)

If the bakelite/plastic bit has broken off the back of the speedo shirley that's terminal? This happened at the back of the volt gauge. It had been Araldited back on but that only carried the bulb and that was crap.

Got tratter back from garage. Alarm done but I'm gonna have to sort the speedo and now my rear window and hazard lights aren't working on dash but work. He told me that the best thing to glue the white brittle light sockets back on with is a glue call Erol's delight, but I can't it on google. Has anyone used it and where did you buy it? Cheers.

Erols Delight, FFs , really?
Yeah. I thought he was taking the **** so I asked him again what it's called. Erol delight. He reckons once it's glued back it'll never ever come off again? I'll phone him in the morning and ask where I get it.

Sorry. Total wazzock. Other half has got to the bottom of it. It's here. Bought it now. Cheers.

I'm putting it down to the brain fog I get when I'm dealing with garage men. I get into a state where I'm thanking them for agreeing to do work and almost apologising for paying them top whack!! Anyway. Second time around it's all fitted how I wanted, apart from the dash lights for hazard and heated window not showing on my dash. I hate asking other people to do stuff for me. I do a much better job when it's something I can do, but the wiring stuff was beyond my gift. Anyway. I use gorilla glue. Never heard of this stuff in all my life, so it's not like I'm a total div.
