Like to know which Discovery

Hi All I am new to this and was hoping to gain some advice from your wealth of experience basically I am looking to buy a second hand Discovery but quite frankly I have not got a clue what I am looking at wonder if you know any quality web sites worth a look for reliable vechicles looking to spend in circa 6k-10k this vechicle would be in the countryside most weekends. Thanks for any advice.

i had a disco 300tdi for 6 years+, great car, buying 2nd hand spending that sort of cash, the world is your honey pot. try finding your self a td5 es top of the range, auto is much nicer with a disco as manual is heavy to drive.
you can expect around 30mpg fully loaded or empty. approx 100mph tops.
watch out for signs of rust on back doors, round rear wheel arch, and under the bonnet if its from the cost area. look for low milage cars with full lr history
lr main dealers have some good deals on older 300tdi and td5 as the new model hits the forecorts, shop around and dont fall in love with the first one you see, as theres all ways a better one just round the corner.
