I own a 300tdi Defender and have a friend that is planning to import into the Bahamas a Series 3 Light Weight.

He has asked me to help put a list together of spare to bring in with the vehicle.
He wants spare for regular servicing and spares for common problems.
I can easily do this for a 300tdi but am completely lost with the Light Weight series.

Any help would be most helpful.

Thanks.

For engine, oil and fuel filters, lift pump overhaul kit. Also brake and clutch master cyl's or overhaul kit's, same for clutch slave, brake cylinders front and rear, hub oil seals, diff seals, transfer box output seals, set of brake shoes, universal joints.
I am sure others will add to this.

As above plus top, bottom & bypass hoses, fan belts, hub cap or two, fuses, swivel seals (maybe chalices if rusty) stub axle lands, exhaust hangers / brackets, glow plugs.
Where do you stop! Lol

I guess the question has to be what he's planning to use it for, and how long importing parts will take.

If it's a daily driver, and parts take weeks, then you'd want a much bigger and wider stock than if it's a toy and they only take a few days.

Parts will take about 2 weeks to import.

The vehicle will sit 2 weeks out of each month, sometimes more and sometimes less.

Not a toy, it will be used as transportation on an island with almost no roads.
