Light problems

hi there on my series 3 I have to spot lamps on an A bar which act as my full beam, but over the past couple of weeks when we have had heavy rain the spots flicker on and off, some times staying on and not been able to get them off, and some times just flashing so when ive been driving ive had a few cars pull over, last night my main lights would not come on but the spots did ?

any ideas

Sounds like a short in the wiring. Perhaps water has got into the spot light bodies? How well sealed are they?

Possibly a wiring short. Water in the lamp shouldn't cause a problem as theres no volts to short when lamp is off.

Do they run off a relay? (if not, why not?)the relay can corrode/get water in or just have the spring fail.
I would put my money on the relay.(not real money, you understand)

thanks, when it stops raining i'll brave the elements and have a looks, its that wet the dog wont even go out
