To give you a sensible answer, leave it in gear. Don't put on the handbrake at all.
If you are wanting to be really 'highway code' then park it facing down with wheels turned into the kerb slightly too.

That's the best idea, assuming yer elecktrickerys are all wired up properly, ie. they turn off

I suppose it could have been! Oh well never mind!
Or you could park it facing up but then your steering wheels should be turned towards the road. (away from the kerb, the opposite as if facing down).

only if there is a kerb stone for the front wheel to stop against if it rolls. if not, wheels facing the kerb....
Yes, of course, all this assuming there is indeed a kerbstone.
If not he can just put a brick in front/behind a/some wheel(s), then release the handbrake and push in the clutch and have the car 'rest' on the stones, then put it in gear and leave it that way ??

Jest find the biggest hill and park it facing downhill.....then just apply the handbrake....go on holiday or whatever....hopefully yur freelanders gone when you return

I have never had my handbrake sieze on. I have left it for two weeks or longer many times.
