I've got a leak on the rear door that seems to be coming in at the bottom near the door stay bracket. the seal looks wet from about half way between the hinges, seems as if its getting in here, then tracking down the inside of the seal and coming in near the stay.
Was there a redesigned seal to cure this or just a design feature of Hippo's, its making the carpet and security box very moist indeed..
Is it a trip to the stealer for a new seal, or are there any little mods to help it, the seal out of interest looks ok..

Stripped out the carpet and trims today and got the hose on it.. seems the lower door seal leaks on both sides, it looks week near to where the loom to the door is..

Anyway, has anyone ever bought one of these seals from Rimmers etc, are they any good, or am I best with a genuine part??

I've got a leaky seal as well, and yes it seems to be about halfway down each side, especially on the door hinge side. But I think the water actually starts it's journey from above, around the plastic seal between window and bodywork, the long one from pillar to pillar.

I got a new one yesterday from main stealer £143:eek:, better be good

Holy Christ...
Let us know if it cures it if you don't mind please, don't mind spending the money if its gonna work.

It looks on mine that with the wiring loom brushing it and the way the door closes on it, its lost its shape a little. I did consider earlier filling it with silicone to beef it up, nil desperandum as Rick Mayall would say!!

Not to disappoint you Illy, I bought a replacement, at a similar price, and it made no difference....... gutted. As Cooter has said, it's coming through higher up in my opinion too, because the rear headlining on mine is soaking. I'm guessing it's the plastic trim above the rear door, but lord knows where, as I sealed the holes that the plastic trim clips go through with sealant as well.......... gonna need to remove the headlining at some stage :(

Well my door seal does need replacing as it is damaged, so we'll see. I work in a garage and water leeks are the worst job ever, just done a Citroen c4 it was sent to me as another garage couldn't cure it, took 28hrs to fiend leek and rectify. Did mi ed in. lol

Mine leaks, they all leak, don't they? Surely its that crazy rear window set up and the good old fashioned barn door we all love? ;)

Mine's dry (for now).

A few weeks ago it started to get very wet in my cubby box, but I found some anti-rattle sponge under the floor trim which was soaking up water and moving it into the boot.

I started a thread about it if you're interested.
