leaky disco 300tdi

Hi all
just got myself a disco 300tdi with poss head gasket gone done all the normal checkes no milky stuff on filler cap no oil in water etc,does have a leak from water pump looks like gasket gone,also got no heat in cab
any help welcomed

no heat in cab is due to lack of coolant caused by head gasket or leak or because its never beeen checked for a long time ,coolant should be checked by removing both bungs and filler cap and filling all till overflowing ,rad should aallways be checked on 300 by feeling core all over while hot if core has cooler areas replace with new ,

cheers the rad looks pretty tired so will check that im hoping just water pump gasket gone is there any other ways off checking head gasket

No heat might be air lock if your not loosing coolant. Check your breather pipe from cyclone unit for oil. This goes round back of engine. I was told my engine was goosed. But was only the breather pipe, it became porous. Some one else had the same prob on here. cost him £4.50 for new pipe. Careful you don't get ripped of by a garage if you go to one.

how does breather pipe effect cooling system ?

breather doesn't effect your coolant. Don't know why that got in there. Must have been putting two replies in. Strange. Had another reply go to the wrong post aswell. Never mind scrub it.
