Leaking Transmission Fluid- Help

Hi all,
My name is Nick and I live in Australia. I have a 1995 TDI landrover cab chassis defender and I seem to be having a few leaks... This is my first landrover and Im in love with the bloody things
Anyway first problem seems to be clutch fluid making its way into the cab. It is running down the clutch pedal so I assume the master cylinder is leaking. What this be a possible leak situation? Are there any other ways to check where the leak is coming without immobilising the vehicle for a long period of time?
The other leak im having is that im leaking transmission fluid. It is running down onto the tranfer case and is originating from the region between the gear box and the transfer case... Any ideas?
I assume the latter, will require the removal of the transmision?
Any ideas anyone?

you need to make sure its the clutch m/c at fault and not the brake. clean the area up as best as poss and then get somone to work the pedal whilst you watch for the leak.
whichever m/c it is then a new one is best. esp the brake! i dont like using seal kits for the brake m/c.

I don't know how different a 95 TDI is to my 89 turbo. On mine there is a seal on the output shaft from the gearbox. Oil leaking from this would eventually drain out of a hole in the fifth gear alloy gearbox extension case close to the bigger gearbox drain plug.

Are you sure it's gearbox oil? Theres loads more places for transfer oil to leak from. Gearbox oil is thin and ****ey, transfer box oil is thick and macho!

Thanks for all the replies.. It has reassured me that buying a new master cylinder is the way to go
Im pretty sure its clutch fluid as the brake fluid level is not dropping but the clutch fluid level is.. No brakes would be much funner than be unable to change gears...HEHE...
As for the trasmission fluid thats leaking... Im sure its transmission fluid not transfer case oil as the fluid is red...indicating gear fluid...
So any ideas on how to determine specifically where the fluid is leaking from, so that I can get some parts to fix it up... I heard that someone is actually maketing a 2 piece rear main seal that meant to negate the need to remove the gear box... Anyone heard of a name for this product?

Ohh, just a quick thought... There is "one shot grease" available for the swival hubs which is a million times better than the oil according to alot of people. As the swival hubs take 80w/90 spec oil, and the "one shot grease" meant to be a viable alternative, are you able to put that grease in the transfer case... I assume not, as someone would of tried it well and truely before i did....
