leaking fuel pipes

HiI have just bought a 1995 Disco 3.9 ES on LPG. Main problem is it will not tick over and cuts out evertime I slow down. Major problem since it is auto. I have been underneath and noticed the petrol fuel pipes are badly corroded and soaking wet with leakage. a) can this affect the running on gas and b) can these be cut off and replaced with rubber fuel pipes. At speed the car runs like a dream but at low speed and slowing down and accelerating from standing start it either cuts out and stalls or runs as if its running out of fuel ie missing and spluttering. Any advise would be helpful as i am new to both discos and LPG.LPG system is single point not multi if that makes any difference.CheersNick

answer to 1 is no answer to b is yes, the problem is with your lpg, seems all lpg's have a problemi'm not really into lpg, but i was talking to a chap today and he ha an old ambulance on lpg and it does the same thing as yours, he has been told to change all the plugs, leads, dissy cap, and rotor arm. don't know if its a solve though, just what i was told in a conversation good luck

i could be wildly wrong here but as yer injected engine has a higher fuel pressure than a carbatooter you might run into problem with the rubber hose expanding and therefore losing pressure. it easy enough to make up some pipes to do the job or maybe you could get some from a scrappy.

never thought of that slob, you can get high pressure petrol pipe and couplers though

Use some 8mm copper pipe and compression fittings...

I will throw this in incase its true... there is a particular one you get, standard radiator pipe is more prone to splitting... don't ask me how or why, I read it on a self build guide. Might be rubbish, don't see why copper pipe would split.

Thanks alot, fitted new sections of 8mm copper using rubber fuel pipe to join with clips. Works a treat now. Compression joints would have been a pig to do without replacing the whole lot. (job for the future).
