My water pump seems to be leaking and I was wondering how difficult it would be to fit a replacement. Also if I fit it myself will I have to take anything else into consideration such as timing. Would it be advisable to fit any other new parts at the same time, such as timing belt etc. The engine is a 1987 petrol 2.5 lump. Will I cause any further damage if I continue driving it, whilst its leaking. Cheers

do the timing chain at the same time - easy peasy stuff - DONT forget the timing cover to block water gasket tho - its easily overlooked.

oh! - and remove the cranckshaft pulley bolt BEFORE trying to remove the pulley with a puller!!!!

while yu are at it - change the tensioner and the timing cover oil seal.
