Going logging weekend . With trailer n chainsaw. Friend nearby has sold up. He's offered tons of logs n rounds. I'll be sorted for logs for the next three years. Fuelling up first thing and getting stuck in all day. After that comes splitting n storing. What are other people doing .

Yeah, same forecast here not weather for that job. Is your Chevy a vintage. Went BC 5 years ago n had a chance to drive a 4x4 Blazer. It was 70's model with heavy rear axle. It had an awesome V8 diesel. It was also SWB not a feckin monster type yea see now. I'VE got total respect for these trucks. Made with big torque for big country. Got any photos?

If its any consolation it's pxxing down here in Ireland too solid for last two weeks, trying to finish under sealing chassis! Need a big shed!

Yoh Jesper too right! All weekend was ****ing rain n clag. Had to do the logs; deadline looming. Feckin trailer developed a short and burnt out the light circuit and switch. Luckily last time this happened I ordered a spare switch. Had the bugger changed at the roadside in 10 mins. Things happen in 3's so second after that was the drivers side wing mirror simply decided to fall off on route. That's 32 years old vehicles for you.

sadly not vintage, I liked the 80's ones they were essentially a short suburban. there used to be a chap put those big 6.5 and 6.2 diesels in landies don't know if he is still around not sure he had a good rep tho

We used to do ours in Feb/ March time. We had to cut the trees down before sawing up into portable size logs. I hated it. Especially if it was wet or damp. That was our main heating. We had to cut down about 32 stairs, I believe a stair is about a tonne. Now I have Geothermic heating system. Just flick a switch and that's it. Used to take us just over a week to sort all the wood out. Good luck.

Hey that looks like a great set up...like the tractor, is it an old Zetor? We burn about 4 tons each winter but as you'll know you always need the supply coming through to season them. Had to get those logs out before the month end as the property was being sold; I now have masses of timber and a lot of splitting and sawing to do. Our main heating is biomass wood pellet topped up with two wood burners. We considered geothermic but it came out very expensive; seen it working in Sweden, but it's not so popular here.
